Temporary auto insurance… for some it’s a myth, for others it’s a legend. For Eric Nelson, Insurance and Financial Services Expert, it’s a complicated matter.
In short, temporary car insurance is what it sounds to be: auto insurance that is temporary. Typically, insurers will use this as bait to draw customers in with the promise of 7 day, 14 day or even 30 day ‘temporary’ insurance. However, the reality is that this is often a hook, that involves an almost immediate transition into a 6 month or longer coverage plan…. At a prettier penny than initially discussed. (Think of it as when you sign up for a free trial, only to wind up forgetting to cancel precisely on time. Hook, line and sinker!) Eric Nelson encourages his customers to consider a six month policy before jumping at the first ‘temporary car insurance’ policy!
